Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers parties.
